A Christian response to the elections...

No matter who you voted for, obey the Word, not your flesh...
and what does the word say?
1 Timothy 2:2 "...Pray for...all those in authority

Paul replied, "Brothers... it is written: 'Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people.'

Romans 13:1 "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God"

Titus 3:1-15 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, ...

Luke 21:8,19 "...do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” "... All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life"

Bottom Line: Lead your family in a godly manner. Let them observe a godly response. We serve a sovereign God. All authority is God placed, Pray for those in authority and do not speak ill of the them. Obey the laws that do not contradict God's laws, and joyfully suffer the consequences of obeying God's laws when they do, for you are suffering for Christ's sake!
