Deuteronomy 28:13

The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
Let's say you have a friend named Bob & he promises to give you $100 if you come over to his house and pick it up. You however choose not to go to Bob's house but later run into Bob at the store & ask him for the $100. Bob refuses to give it to you. Did Bob fail in his promise to give you hundred dollars? No, because the promise required something of you which you did not do. Salvation is a free gift from God when we believe and accept Jesus Christ but concerning the promises God has made to us for our life here on earth...well, it requires something of us. We cannot expect God to fulfill his promise to us in this life and expect him to do it when we have not, or will not, do what he requires of us. the Bible says, "The LORD will make you the head, not the tail If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them..." Want success in business? Follow God's commands concerning business. Want a great marriage? Follow God's commands concerning marriage. Want peace of mind? Follow God's commands concerning anger, jealousy, giving, pride, holiness, and righteousness. This is not about being perfect or trying harder. It is simply surrendering to the Lord's commands and walking in his ways not your own. Accepting Jesus as your Saviour and your Lord. Then he will give you everything you need to be able to walk in obedience and he will fulfill his promises. He will never leave you, nor forsake you and you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Think about this...

"...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things" ~ Philippians 4:8 ~
It is really hard to be negative or focus on your problems when you are thinking about things that are noble, right, trustworthy, excellent, and praiseworthy. If you can't think of anything that fits that description simply think about how beautifully and wonderfully God created us. Think about God.

God is love, no one wants a list of rules they should and should not do. Demonstrate the love of Jesus to others by loving people, be the light in a dark world for it is written without holiness no one will see God.
