Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. ~ Titus 1:15 ~

Someone can say something completely harmless and a person with a pure mind or a mind fixed on God will take it in a way that is proper and clean, but someone else who has a  mind which is not fixed on God will take the same thing said as something filthy and obscene. If your mind wanders from things pure and holy let it be a warning to you to draw nearer to God, keeping your eyes fixed upon Him.

Wanted: Disciples

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.' "  ~ Matthew 16:24 ~

The great English preacher John Wesley once said, "Give me a hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I do not care if they be clergymen or laymen. Such men alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth." I don't know if Wesley ever found such men. But I know that Jesus did.

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" ~ Luke 17:5 ~

I don't know about you but for me there are times when I find my faith not being what it should be. I still believe in God but for some reason I doubt if He will come through for me. God will always provide for our needs, even if our need is more faith. God wants us to come to Him with every need we have, including increasing faith and trust in Himself. He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you"
 Lord, increase our faith!

Fighting Faith

Jesus said: "The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force" (Matthew 11:12).
Dear saint, God wants to put a fight in you! If you have been guilty of violence, doubt, fear, anger, etc. quickly repent before the Lord and obey His Word. That's all He asks. May God put a holy zeal and faith in you beyond anything you have ever known  May the Saint's say "I'm not going to let the devil steal my joy and peace. I will not let him plant seeds of grudges, murder, hatred, doubt, fear, or violence in me. No! I'm going to rise up in Jesus' power and live victoriously above this demonic filth." ~ David Wilkerson ~

Love Like Jesus

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect ~ 1 Peter 3:15 ~

I have a friend named George who is always happy. He works in a nursing home and loves going to work because as he puts it "It gives me an opportunity to be a servant of Jesus" George considers humbling himself in service to others as an honor. One day as George was happily arriving to work a few coworkers approached Him and said "George, your supposed to be happy when you leave work not when you get to work, why are you so happy?" George replied by saying "Because I have the love of Jesus in my heart!" Seems like George is a good example of living out the verse "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" Amen.

Seek Truth

But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips ~ Colossians 3:8 ~

If salvation is not based on my good deeds but rather a gift from God and my sins are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ, then why does it matter if I get angry at people, curse, or say negative things? Well, it's kind of like this...When salvation truly occurs Jesus takes up residence within us through the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul said "It is no longer I that lives but Christ in me" The Bible also tells us the Holy Spirit is in contrast to the sinful nature. So it's not so much that I can't do these things you see, but rather if Christ is truly in me, then I have died to my selfish evil ways and no longer have a desire to sin.  Evidence of real salvation is that Christ now lives in you and leads you by the Holy Spirit, Jesus being without sin would never act and speak in a sinful way. The author of this verse is saying "If you have received Jesus you must rid yourself of these things or you might be decieved and not saved at all, if Christ is really in your heart you cannot be led by the Spirit and live a life of sin at the same time" Certainly we will all still make mistakes and sin, but living a lifestyle of sin and thinking it's Ok or not feeling guilty about it is cause for great concern and a very serious examining of oneself.  Seek Truth and live!

Until the End

He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  ~ 1 Corinthians 1:8 ~

Everybody wants to perform & receive physical healing and miracles. What good is it if the cup is clean on the outside but not on the inside, even if miracles are being performed? The real miracle is what God does on the inside of us as He draws us near to Himself and as we submit to Him with humbleness, thanksgivinging, praise and obedience. Praise the Lord Jesus our Christ for our transformation as He transforms us into the image of His Son Jesus. He who began the good work in us will finish it. I was really frustrated this morning and honestly was tired of being humble in stressful situations, then the Holy Spirit said these words to me "until the very end" and God gave me the courage and the strength to continue to walk in a spirit of supplication. When you get frustrated remember these words...
Until the very End! Powerful Words from a Powerful God!

Head Hunter turned Christian?

About 150 years ago, there was a group of head-hunters that did not know of Jesus. A group of missionaries decided to witness to them (talk about scary) One missionary succeeded in converting a man, his wife, and two children. This man’s faith proved contagious and many villagers began to accept Christianity.

Angry, the village chief summoned all the villagers. He then called the family who had first converted to renounce their faith in public or face execution. (He wanted them to deny Jesus as their Saviour) Moved by the Holy Spirit, the man instantly composed a song which became famous down the years. He sang:

I have decided to follow Jesus. (3 times)
No turning back, no turning back.

The chief ordered his archers to arrow down the two children. As both boys lay twitching on the floor, the chief asked, “Will you deny your faith? You have lost both your children. You will lose your wife too.” But the man sang these words in reply:

Though None Go With Me, Still I Will Follow (3Times)
No Turning Back, No Turning Back.

The chief was beside himself with fury and ordered his wife to be arrowed down. In a moment she joined her two children in death. Now he asked for the last time, “I will give you one more opportunity to deny your faith and live.” In the face of death the man sang the final memorable lines:

The World Behind Me, The Cross Before Me (3 times)
No Turning Back, No Turning Back.

He was shot dead like the rest of his family. But with their deaths, a miracle took place. The chief who had ordered the killings was moved by the faith of the man. He wondered, “Why should this man, his wife and two children die for a Man who lived in a far-away land some 2,000 years ago? There must be some supernatural power behind the family, and I too want that supernatural power.”

In a spontaneous confession of faith, the Chief declared, “I too belong to Jesus Christ!” When the crowd heard this from the mouth of their chief, the whole village accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

This is the power of God in demonstration

Because of one man's faith a whole tribe of people came to know Jesus. This man not only honored God with his life but also with his death. What does your life say to people? You too can make a difference in people coming to Jesus simply by standing up for what you believe in.

I BELIEVE

He (Jesus) said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
~ Mark 5:34 ~

Jesus was surrounded by a crowd of people but actually felt someone touch the edge of his robe as He said He could feel His power being released. Jesus asked who touched Him, a woman came forward and confessed it was her. This woman had suffered from an illness for 12 years. When she heard of Jesus she knew in her heart if she could simply touch Him she would be healed. She believed with all her heart, she had true faith in Jesus. Jesus said "...your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering" Not only was she healed but she had no more anxiety, no more depression, no more worry, she had peace, as she was free from her suffering when the power of Jesus entered her body. Jesus has power that He wants to release to you. We too with just a touch of Jesus can be healed of whatever it is we suffer from, we too can have peace and freedom. Jesus wants you to believe in Him, not just in your mind but with all your heart. The woman had to fight through the crowd to get to Jesus, are you willing to fight to be healed? Are you willing to believe,  read your bible, persevere in prayer, and do whatever it takes to reach Jesus? Believe in Jesus and be set free of your suffering.
