You might say "It's Impossible" but...

Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." ~ Luke 18:27 ~

Your situation may look impossible but God says's "All things are possible with Him." For those who put their faith and trust in Jesus nothing is impossible. You may feel like a caterpillar, but look what God does with caterpillars, they must go through a process but then...they are created into something beautiful and amazing. 1 Peter 5:10 tells us "The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ,  after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast" He will change you from the inside out allowing you to see your true beauty and worth.

TRUST GOD

Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you ~ Psalm 9:10 ~

The psalmist tells us "God has never forgotten those who Love Him" So even though things may seem difficult or even impossible right now, trust in God to carry you through it and to deliver you from it. Tell Him right now..."God, I do trust you, please be with me and help me, I love you and I will praise you and trust in you even in the middle of this because You have promised you will not leave me, amen"

The greatest commandment is to Love God, the second greatest commandment is to Love others.

If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? ` ~ James 2:16 ~

Bottom line, we are expected to help each other when we are able (not just our friends and family) If I have cable t.v. but my neighbor doesn't have food...do I really need to finish that thought? You might say, "well they caused it" but God says's "Let mercy triumph over judgement"

Praise Him in the Storm

He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
~ Psalm 107:29 ~

Sometimes God calms the storm, and sometimes he lets the storm rage and calms his child. In Psalm 107:29 Jesus calmed the storm but in Matthew 9:2 Some people brought him a paralyzed man on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, "Be of good cheer. Your sins are forgiven." Although Jesus did heal the man to demontrate to the unbelievers that in fact he was and is God, initially Jesus allowed the man to remain paralized but told him  "be of good cheer because your sins are forgiven." God is more interested in our Spiritual state of being than our physical state, as God himself is Spirit. When God allows the storm to rage he is doing something far greater in us spiritually than we can ever imagine. So praise God not only in the calm quiet moments of life but praise him in the storm too. God loves you and is with you every moment.

Never Give In...

"But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”

~ Numbers 13:31 ~

Moses sent men out to scout the land of Canaan which was the land God had promised them. What they saw though terrified them. They saw a land inhabited by men much bigger than they were and much stronger. It appeared to be to difficult for them, it appeared there was no way they were going to take over this land God promised to give them. To jump to the end of the story they in fact did take over the land and God's promise was fulfilled. Along the way though, they had doubts and fears which they had to overcome. If God makes a promise, He will keep it. So what is it in your life that just seems to hard or scary for it to actually happen. Is it a coming out of a rough financial situation, is it a relationship that needs repairing or maybe a physical healing of something? Like the Israelites we also must overcome doubts and fears and trust God that He WILL deliver us, this is the cool part, God promises to help us do that too, if we just simply ask Him and trust Him. (God, help me to overcome my doubts & fears and trust you completely) Amen.

God goes before you and is with you.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."~  Deuteronomy 31:8 ~

Notice God does not say you will not have trouble or sorrow, He does however say "I will go before you and will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Just before Jesus was crucified He prayed a similar prayer to God's word here when He said "My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one" ~John 17:15 ~ It may seem like it at times but, God will not give us more than we are able to bear, so find comfort in knowing that God cares about every part of your life and He is always with you making sure you are alright. Cry out to Him, ask Him to help you, tell Him everything, give Him all your fears, worries and concerns and ask Him to give you strength to trust Him and persevere, and he will. You are not alone.

10 Year Old Autistic boy Sings "Open the Eyes of My Heart"

My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek. ~ Psalm 27:8 ~

My body may be sick, my mind may be troubled, and sorrow may be all around me but something deep within tells me to look past the physical and seek God's face. My soul cries out out for God to "open the eyes of my heart" that I may see Him. Psalm 116 says "The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave was upon me, trouble and sorrow overcame me, but then I cried out to the Lord, and He heard my cries for mercy and He saved me...He lifted me up so that I might praise Him" Whatever your going through physically or mentally, spiritually reach out to God, for He is the God of comfort and He will lift you up to be able to praise His name even in the midst of trouble and He will save you.

Positively Positive

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
 ~ Psalm 28:7 ~

The Bible tells us in Romans 12:2 "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" . The way we act, the way we speak, and the way we feel, all starts with the way we think. So instead of thinking or speaking negative thoughts in times of struggle or when something hurts, repeat these words of truth over and over in your mind or out loud  "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped"

Do you love me?

Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

Jesus also said "If you love me, obey my commandments. ..."the new covenant is based on our love for Jesus... loving him because he first loved us. The more we know and understand the depth of God's love for us, the more we are able to love him in return. So think about all the things God has done for you, all the things He has forgiven you of and all the times He has comforted you and given you strength to carry on in times of struggle. Jesus didn't say "if you obey my commands", He didn't say "if you go to church" He didn't say "if you read your bible" Jesus said, "IF YOU LOVE ME" God wants your love for Him to be in the things you do. So obey God's laws...because you love Him, Go to church... because you love Him, read your bible...becuse you love Him. Everything acceptable to the Lord comes from a love for Him, not in doing something because you have to. What was it Jesus wanted Simon (Peter) to do, because he loved Him? He wanted him to take care of His sheep, and the best way to care for someone is to love them!

You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.
~ Psalms 77:14 ~

Sometimes God allows us to go through things to demonstrate His glory and power. Through miracles the world witnesses God's glory when He delivers and heals us. But other times it is in people standing strong in faith during their struggle that speaks to people. Whatever your going through, stand strong in your faith while waiting and praying for healing as both your faith and your heailng may lead people to Christ.

Be Alert

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. ~ 1 Peter 5:8-9 ~

Often when we're not paying attention the enemy will sneak up on us and use situations in our lives to lead us into doubting God. When we start to doubt, fear creeps in, and then disbelief, and eventually disobedience and a hardening of the heart that leads to death. The Word says in Romans 8:28  "...we know that God works all things together for good to those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose." Whatever your facing in your life whether it be financial, pain, sickness, broken relationship, or anything else, do not let then enemy devour you, be on your guard against doubt, fear, and disbelief. Trust the Word of God, stand firm in the faith you have in Christ Jesus, and find strength in knowing you are not alone.

Wisdom will lift you up

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding
~ Proverbs 3:13 ~

Blessed is the man who "finds" wisdom. This implies you must seek it out. Wisdom will not simply fall into your lap, but if you ask for it, and diligently seek it out, God says He gives to all who ask.

The Sinful Mind

The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
~ Romans 8:7 ~

He does not say that it is impossible for a wicked man to become good, but that it cannot be done while he retains a sinful mind. He must be converted first. Romans 5:8 tells us "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" If we repent and believe, not by our efforts, but by the grace of God, and by the blood of Jesus, we are saved from a life of sin & given eternal salvation.

Life and Peace

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace
 ~ Romans 8:6 ~

Believers may be disciplined by the Lord, but will not be condemned with the world. By Christ through faith, they are saved. Do you as a lifestyle choose the flesh or the Spirit, the old or the new nature, corruption or grace? For which of these do you give permission, by which are you controlled?  2 Corinthians 13:5 gives us instructions concerning this matter "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?
It is by grace through Christ and Christ alone that we are saved and not by good deeds, the evidence that you are saved is that what is inside your heart will come out in your actions and your words as you are led by the Holy Spirit, as the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

Repentance vs. Feeling Bad

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
~ Matthew 3:8 ~

There is nothing beneficial in feeling sorry for your sins but continuing in them. Repentance is turning away from sin and turning toward God. When you confess your sins and turn from them, God will enable you, give you strength, courage and wisdom, and from this will come many good and godly things. So don't just feel sorry, produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Bad Fruit

The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. ~ Matthew 3:10 ~

1 John 3:6 tells us "No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either
seen him or known him
" this is not about being perfect because 1 John also tells us "if we claim to be without sin, we lie" What is being talked about is a condition of the heart and soul! Galatians 5:16 talks about living by the spirit for the spirit is in contrast to the sinful nature. If Jesus truly resides in you then you cannot have a lifestyle of sin. You may sin occasionally, but the Spirit of God convicts you and tells you it's wrong so you can confess it and turn form it. But when Jesus does not reside in you then you live a life led by the flesh or your own desires and wind up entangled in a life of sin. God tells us these people will one day be thrown into the lake of fire, or hell. The good fruit spoken of is in short the good things that come out of you because God lives inside of you, this kind of fruit glorifies God. There is another fruit, bad fruit, it may not always appear bad to us at first but we can tell the difference because it glorifies ourselves and not God.

Forever and ever and ever...

...All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever... ~ 1 Peter 1:24-25 ~

No matter how much success or celebrity status we may achieve, it does not last forever. Even the summers tan many work so hard for quickly fades by fall, success is short lived as is the men & women themselves. But the Word of the Lord stands forever! The Bible tells us in Revelations 4:8 "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." By the grace of God, not because we deserve it, we have been given an invitation to live with God forever, it's on His terms, but the invitation is free.

God Heals the BrokenHearted

He (God) HEALS the brokenhearted and binds their wounds.
~ Psalm 147:3 ~

Have you ever heard it said that "time heals all wounds" well, that is not really true. Time does make things easier but the pain and sorrow are still there deep down inside. When we surrender everything to God, He doesn't just make things feel better, He takes the pain, hurt & sorrow away...He removes it from us. Psalm 91:1 tells us "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” & Psalm 3:3 says's "But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head."  If something is heavy on your heart or your mind, give it to God, tell Him all about it, then trust Him to take away, He Heals the brokenhearted!

Why do you go to Church?

As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces. Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet ~ Matthew 11:7-9 ~

John hung out in the desert, he baptized people and told of the Saviour Jesus still yet to come. Some people would go to the desert to listen to John teach so they could know God's truth & be closer to God, and to be baptized. Some though, would follow whoever was most popular at the time, they would go here and there being blown around like a reed in the wind. Others wanted prosperity, wealth, fancy clothes and to be associated with high class people. Jesus separated the people by the condition of their heart. Today, do you go to Church to listen to the Pastor speak the truth of God's Word, learn, & worship, or do you you go to gain wealth and status? Or, are you simply blown by the wind, coming and going when something popular is happening? Jesus basically told the disciples "If your looking for worldly things, your not gonna find it here!" Search your heart & your motives and if they are not right then confess it to God and ask Him to draw you close to Him & he will fill you with His Love.

Prince of Peace

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace ~ Isaiah 9:6 ~

Isaiah foretells of a child to be born (Jesus) that is both man and God. He is son of man being born into this world but Son of God being born by a virgin, the fate or the Salvation of the whole world rests on His shoulders alone, He is the wonderful Counselor, there is no other teacher like Him, He is Mighty God, He is in control of everything, He is Everlasting Father, God is eternal or forever, we are adopted in God's family when we believe in Jesus and we too can have eternal life with Him, and He is the Prince of Peace as it is He who reconciles or brings us back into a right relationship with God.
Romans 5:1 tells us "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ"

Are you thirsty for life, real life?

And he (Jesus) also said, 'It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.'
~ Revelation 21:6 ~

Jesus is telling us, no one was before Him and no one is coming after Him, there is no other way to salvation, no other religion, no other possibilities, you can't do it on your own, you can't buy it, and you can't earn it.  Jesus is the alpha & Omega and to everyone who truly desires to know Him, to follow Him, to live the life He has planned for them, He is willing to not just give, but give freely. It is finished.
Blessed be the name of the Lord, there is no one like Him!

God's House

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands ~ Acts 17:24 ~

Many people act differently at church compared to when at home, school, or work because they think of church as God's house. But God says's He does not live in temples built by hands. God cannot be contained in a building, He is everywhere. As a Christ follower God also lives in your heart. Jesus said "Worship in Spirit and Truth" If you truly love Jesus and want to worship Him, be honest, sing songs of praise, act justly, love mercy, be kind, love people, if you truly want to worship God, don't worship only at church, worship everywhere, all the time, worship Him with your life!

Love the Lord your God

Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. ~ Psalm 34:11-18 ~

Cry out to God in times of trouble. Love God, Love People, Do Good, Watch what you Say, Be broken over your sins & confess them to God. Have Faith like that of a Child.

Curds & Honey

Therefore God will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. He will eat curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right ~ Isaiah 7:14-15 ~

Isaiah is predicting the birth of Jesus hundreds of years before he was born. Isaiah explains that Jesus would grow up a normal child including eating the regular food that children of those days ate, but when Jesus became old enough to know right from wrong he would refuse evil and do good. It is asked "If a child dies will they go to heaven?" This verse also tells us that until we are able to determine right from wrong we are not held accountable for sin. Romans 4:15 tells us "... where there is no law there is no transgression." (or sin) A baby does not know right from wrong so it cannot be held responsible for sin. Once we become old enough to know the difference we have a choice to make, and are held responsible. God knew we could never perfectly keep the law so in His grace and mercy He sent Jesus to take our punishment upon himself and save us from His wrath. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" Believing in Jesus means more than simply believing he existed, It is saying "I truly believe Jesus is God, came to earth as a man, died for me, rose from the dead and reigns as King. And because I believe, I will obey"

Does your house need repair?

A roof sags because of laziness. A house leaks because of idle hands
~ Ecclesiastes 10:18 ~

The house pictured above was once a brand new home. lack of maintenance caused it to fall apart and it is now close to or beyond repair. 1 Peter 2:5 says's "you also... are being built into a spiritual house... " If we do not work on being holy our spiritual houses will fall apart as well. If we say we believe in Jesus but then never do anything more, that would be like building a home and never doing any repairs, eventually it will break down. So is this talking about my actual physical body? 1 Timothy 4:8 helps with this by saying "...physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come" God wants us to work towards being like Jesus. You don't build a house overnight, you do a little at a time, so everyday work a little towards making your spiritual house beautiful on the inside, and the out. Read the Bible, Pray, Go to Church, Confess your Sins, eat healthy, get good sleep, and exercise a little. But most importantly Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and by the grace of God you will have a house that will stand up against the fiercest storms and last for eternity.

Bitter Sweet

Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water when they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. ~ Exodus 15:22-25 ~

A human can only last about 3 days without water before they die. For the Israelites, it had been 3 days. The Israelites looked to a man for help and saw no way of escape, but Moses looked to God. Psalm 121:2 tells us "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth" God will always provide what we need, exactly when we need it, if we just call on him and trust Him. So if there is something bitter (or bad) in your life, call on the Lord, trust Him with all your heart and at exactly the right time, in exactly the right way, God will make it sweet (or good) The scriptures tell us in Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose" Remember the help or blessing will be according to His purpose and His plans, not ours, for it is all for His glory. This scripture is why my email address is what it is "HealingWatersof Marah" When I cried out to Jesus, turned my life over to Him and surrendered my will to His will, God took some really bitter (bad) things in my life and made something good out of it (He made it sweet and healing) My email is a daily reminder that Jesus saved me, for me to trust God, obey His commands, and the sacrifice Jesus made for me, to God be the glory!

Blah, Blah, Blah

The more talk, the less truth;  the wise measure their words ~ Proverbs 10:19 ~

Did you ever just know someone was lying to you because they couldn't stop talking, trying to make an excuse but the more they talked the worse they made it? People that are telling the truth tend to talk less as they know they don't have to defend themselves. In fact the Bible tells us to simply "let your yes be yes and your no be no" Wise people also think about what they are going to say before they say it. Talking can get you into trouble especially you say something hurtfu,l even if you didn't mean it. So think before you speak otherwise you might regret it.

God's has a plan for your Life

"...we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." ~ Ephesians 2:10 ~

God created you in Christ Jesus with a plan and a purpose in mind. God planned it before the beginning of time & nothing catches Him by surprise. What a great feeling of confidence that we can go to God everyday and ask Him "God, what have you prepared in advance for me to do today that will bring You glory and honor?" How cool is it, that you are not subject the world around you, circumstance or chance, but God is in complete control of every little detail, just surrender to His will and rest in His hands.

To God be the Glory

“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends" ~ 2 Corinthians 10:17-18 ~
God does not approve of anyone who brags about themselves.  Don't brag about how good you are or the things you have because everything comes from God who gives as He chooses and sees fit. And He who gives, can also take away. So if your going to brag, brag about the Lord.

You Can Do It!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. ~ Hebrews 12:1 ~

There are a whole bunch of great people that have gone before you that are cheering you on! Moses, Abraham and David to name a few. David beat the giant Goliath against all odds and wants you to know that if you have faith in Jesus there is no giant you face that is too large for you to conquer.  Giants today come in all kinds of forms such as sickness, doubt, finances, addictions and more but there is nothing too big or too hard for you to conquer through Christ Jesus! So whatever race your running, just pace yourself, don't give up, keep going, put your faith in Christ and throw off everything that slows you down, especially sin. Know that I am cheering you on as well and I believe in you too. And don't forget, the God that called you will keep you.

What Do You Want To Do Today?

He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come

 ~ Luke 11:2 ~

What do you want to do today? I don't care, what do you want to do? Ever have that conversation with a friend? Well, Jesus said when you talk to God humble yourself before Him as he is Holy and is worthy of praise and then ask Him 'what do You want me to do today?' Doing what God wants us to do is not only being in His will, it is also the best possible thing for us as He has a perfect plan for not only our lives but for each day. So lay down Your own plans each day and say "Holy Father, not my plans but Yours!''

Extreme Makeover

Ephesians 4:24 "..put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness"

My 13 year old daughter Jenna recently wrote 'I have learned not to judge others which makes a huge difference in life... the real meaning of family is when everyone works together and encourages each other...and I no longer down look down at people who are different than me and have stopped making side comments about them" This is a perfect example of putting on the new self. Before we come to Christ or rather Christ comes to us and fills us with his Holy Spirit, we are slaves to unholy thinking and behaviour, sure we try to be good but most often we fail. When we follow Jesus as our lord and Saviour the Bible says "we are a new creation," and it starts in our mind, our way of thinking. It is however up to us to put it into effect. So don't delay, put on the new self today because as the verse tells us "you were created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

O' What a Happy Soul am I

Today I wish to share a poem. This poem was written about a hundred and fifty years ago by a 8 year old blind girl by the name of Fannie Crosby.

"O' what a happy soul am I.  Although I cannot see, I am resolved that in this world, contented I will be. How many blessings I enjoy that other people don't. To weep and sigh because I'm blind, I cannot, I wont."
To be content means to be satisfied with what you have. Paul was beaten, stripped, run out of town, homeless, and hungry more often than not and he says's in Philippians 4:11 "...I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances" It's OK to have desires and dreams, and it's OK to achieve them, we just do not put them above God, and regardless of whether we achieve them or not, we praise God in spite of our circumstances because we know our real blessing is not found in material things but in abiding in Jesus and being reunited with God. Jesus tells us in Luke 11:28 "Blessed are those who hear God's word and obey it" Fanny Crosby went on to write over a thousand poems, many which are used as hymns even today, she had multiple books published and at least 4 biography's written about her. And don't forget she started it all as a little blind girl.

What shall I wear today?

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. ~ Colossians 3:12 ~

Let's see, what shall I wear today? Let me look through the closet...anger? No, I don't look good in anger. How about jealousy? No, Jealousy is not a good color for me. I could always wear a bad attitude but that went out of style a long time ago. Oh yes, how did I overlook it, the perfect outfit!...I'll put on mercy, everyone loves mercy, especially when it's tenderhearted, and I could wear it with kindness, humility, gentleness, and I can't forget the perfect accessory to go with the perfect outfit, patience! The Bible tells us to "clothe" ourselves with these things, Ephesians 6:11 tells us to "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil". Are you seeing a pattern here. The Bible uses words like "clothe yourselves" & "put on" to demonstrate the fact that we have to make the effort. God will do the work in us, He will enable us, but we have to be willing, able & ready. So each day make a choice of what you will wear that day, do not let circumstances decide for you, you decide, you choose. What shall you wear today?
